Lemony News

  • October 30, 2002 Okay, I can't bear not having my own site any longer. I'm far too controlling. From now on, this is my Snickety base of operations.
I found a great article on book design, featuring quotes from Alison Donalty. Plus, there will be ASoUE video games to coincide with the release of the film. Check the articles section for more. Check the gallery for new images as well.
Oh, and don't forget that The Carnivorous Carnival came out yesterday. So far, I've gotten some interesting ideas about the kids' family, but they could just be more red herrings!
And it has been confirmed that Book the Tenth is titled The Slippery Slope.

  • June 21, 2002 The day has come! The Lemony Site has partnered with Unfortunate Events.net to give you the lemoniest experience online. Although I adore this citrus-y site, it will no longer be updated. All of my updates will now occur on the new domain. A new age is dawning! Happy Summer Solstice!

  • June 20, 2002 I finally posted that USA Today article from last week. Apparently, Mr. Handler wanted FW Murnau to direct Boris Karloff as Count Olaf. Somebody needs to get his mind out of the graveyard.
Also, there's a new fansite called Snicket Files.

  • June 19, 2002 Thanks to the folks on the Miserable Message Board at lemonysnicket.net, I've been able to post an interview with Mr. Handler that is all about the film. He mentions that casting the Baudelaires shouldn't pose much difficulty, as many children have written to him wanting to audition. So, y'know, if you want a chance at it, a letter to him might not be such a bad idea after all.

  • June 18, 2002 One lil blurb over in the articles section, and I just noticed that on June 4, MTVi registered the domain lemonysnicketmovie.com

  • June 13, 2002 Just a couple more articles about the Variety report. Also, things may be changing around here soon.

  • June 12, 2002 Variety had a whole story on the ASoUE film today. Check it out in the articles section. Barry Sonnenfeld is directing, and they've already started pre-production!

  • June 10, 2002 Someone over at lemonysnicket.net found out that in book 9, the Baudelaires hide from Olaf at the Caligari Carnival dressed as side-show freaks.

  • June 7, 2002 Updates include: links, articles, reviews, and films. Especially fun is this interview from last year: New Zealand Herald.

  • June 6, 2002 I've finally typed up the People magazine interview, available in the articles section. Also, I found another review of the Autobio, now avilable in the reviews section.
I have no clue when I'll be able to complete my UA update. June's getting busier than May.

  • June 3, 2002 Happy June! I am now a car owner! Yippee!
Anyways, I've found some new articles, available where all of the other articles are at. I also found an older article, which is available where all of the other older articles are at. To help you, here's the older article link. As this article is about a stage adaptation of ASoUe, I highly recommend reading it.

  • May 28, 2002 Apparently, May 18 was Lemony Snicket Day. Why doesn't anyone tell me these things?
Anyways, now that I'm in a bad mood, I'm not quite as happy to tell you that I've added an article & a fansite link. So there. Oh, & I copied that People magazine interview this weekend, but haven't had time to type it up yet. It's coming...
According to a recent San Francisco Chronicle interview, the 10th book will be titled The Slippery Slope.

  • May 23, 2002 Entertainment Weekly just posted their interview with Mr. Handler, which is available in the articles section. It includes a little on the movie, and unhappy news for the books: only one per year from now on. Makes me feel as sad as an arson victim.

  • May 21, 2002 More goodness from the Malicious Message Board (on lemonysnicket.net): a blurb from Tangents.co.uk about how faboo Mr. Handler is, as well as the most adorable bunny photo! : )   Available in the articles section.

  • May 20, 2002 Thanks to the good folks at the Malicious Message Board (on lemonysnicket.net), I found a new link as well as an interview with Daniel Handler. Happy Monday!
Also, for those of you wondering, I should have my full update for the UnAuthorized Autobiography ready this weekend.

  • May 17, 2002 I just found an old article/interview from a few months back (available in the articles section) that says that Daniel Handler will publish a short story collection next year.
I posted a new fansite link, and I've also had time to update the Words section for The UnAuthorized Autobiography, but that's it so far.

  • May 14, 2002 Thanks to the kind folks on the Malicious Message Board at lemonysnicket.net, I've been able to post a new interview with Mr. Handler that is available in the articles section.

  • May 12, 2002 An old interview just e-mailed to me provided news on the film version of ASoUE.

  • May 9, 2002 Mr. Snicket's new UnAuthorized Autobiography contains much new (to us) info on VFD, Mr. Snicket, Beatrice and all the rest. I'm in the middle of finals right now, but within the next week or so I will have an entire section of this site devoted entirely to the mass of clues contained in The UnAuthorized Autobiography. Until then, this site will most likely not have any updates. Just be patient with me, k? K.
Oh, but yesterday I put up my page of links about Isadora Duncan that you might enjoy.

  • May 7, 2002 First: don't forget that Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography is available today in the US. I'm picking up my copy right after work! Yesterday, Publisher's Weekly released their interview with Daniel Handler about Snicket's latest work.
Also, I've just been e-mailed about another Snicket site: The hunt for Lemony Snicket. There's not much going on over there just yet, but it sure looks spooky.
On top of it all, I've updated the FAQ today. Please remember to check over there to see if your Snicket questions have been answered before e-mailing me, k? K.

  • May 2, 2002 There is a new Snicket fansite on the net: Jello Jreamz Presents ASoUE. It's just getting started, so give 'em a little time to get more content.

  • April 25, 2002 I finally posted the UK covers in the gallery.

  • April 17, 2002 Thanks to Domdabomb828, the gallery now includes the cover for Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography from Amazon.com . Apparently, once the book is released the first Tuesday of May, a contest for a visit from Mr. Snicket will be accessable through the official website!

  • April 14, 2002 I searched through Publisher's Weekly's site and posted the more interesting finds in the articles section.

  • April 12, 2002 I've added some articles & an image of Mr. Handler.
Only a month until the next Snicket book!

  • April 7, 2002 Thanks to the Malicious Message Board at lemonysnicket.net, the image gallery now has several International Book Covers on display.

  • March 24, 2002 New links, including a very fun 'music video.'
Also, as I was re-reading Book 4, I noticed that Mr. Poe always "seemed" to have a cold due to his cough. But he never displays any other cold-like symptoms. Maybe his cough is due to something like smoke inhalation...

  • February 19, 2002 New clues have been posted.

  • February 16, 2002 Egmont Books addition to Links page includes a contest for UK residents aged 16 or under.

  • The Bad Beginning audiobook received a 2001 Grammy nomination for Spoken Word Album for Children.
