Snicket ensconced in enclave

Daniel Handler, author of the wildly successful Lemony Snicket series of children's books and "Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography," hits a two-run homer this week with profiles in both Entertainment Weekly and People.

EW describes Handler and his wife, Lisa Brown, living in "a hip San Francisco enclave." It's the Upper Haight, Handler told TIC, but at the time of the interview they lived in the Richmond District (yes, he said he was moving; no, he didn't say it was to a hipper enclave).

He also said that People magazine didn't want him to pose in a suit, as he preferred, because it would make him "look like a businessman." The photographer asked him instead to take off his pants "because children's humor is wacky." The suit won; spectator shoes and natty French cuffs, too.
